Commercial Fertigation Systems

Are you in need of a commercial fertigation system? Whether you’re in need of fertigation for your commercial greenhouse, golf course, sports field or landscape, we can create a system that works best for you. Our process is able to be applied to multiple climates and terrains. It’s our pride and joy to provide fertigation to your field, too. In the commercial industry, the main goal for any of these locations is about increasing profits. You want to be able to offer better greens, stronger soil and maintain grass when it’s being used constantly. All of that activity can be difficult to maintain a proper growth cycle for plants. The watering cycle can be disrupted and the soil can be damaged or weakened. Turf Feeding Systems has the solution for you. Fertigation is the first and last remedy you’ll need to apply to your plants.

What Is The Problem?

Usually, a commercial field will receive two active cycles. One will be to fertilize the soil with all of the necessary nutrients for growth. These are the sugars, proteins, and enzymes that protect the plant and also help encourage its growth. The other is watering, the fertilizer is water soluble after all so there needs to additional H2O provided to the soil. Through these two processes, the plant is provided with all the support and nourishment it needs on paper.

Yet, while this method has been used for centuries, technology has revealed some faults with it. As an example, when the water is administered into the soil, it will reach the plant but a majority of that water passes on beyond the root zone to the lower levels of the ground. Unfortunately, the force of this process also takes the fertilizer and the soil along with it.

Overall, this runoff will take a combined 50% of the fertilizer and water from the soil. So as it turns out, while the plant receives a basic level of nutrients, it is barely enough to survive. Certainly not enough to grow — especially in stressful conditions. This means that your irrigation system is creating a backlash and doing more damage than good. In the event of continuous use, whether it be a golf course, football field or park, the maintenance cost will surely go up. This is due to the added effort needed to divert more and more resources for feeding and watering a patchy yellow field of grass. This can be time-consuming and very expensive.

How Does Fertigation Avert This?

This revolutionary agriculture strategy sets itself apart from the other methods for a few very specific reasons. The first being that it bypasses the normal route of feeding and hydrating plants. So as a result, when we apply our fertigation system to the normal irrigation lines, we combat this runoff and reinstate a stable cycle of nutrient intake. We instead measure each batch of nutrient solution to add to the water to create this type of “sweet” water that already has the activated nutrients mixed in. The injection rate won’t change but rather, the sweet water will reveal take charge.

Even with the normal watering schedule, there is a dramatic increase in the amount of retention that the plants register. They are able to absorb the nutrients faster because it occurs at the same time as water absorption. This way, we avoid the loss of effectiveness when the runoff pulls the sweet water out of reach of the root zone. Before that time, the plant has already absorbed all of the necessary compounds. When that occurs, the fields will restabilize their growth patterns.

What Do The Results Look Like Environmentally?

We’ll paint an environmental picture of the success first and then look to finances. When the field is back to its regular cycle of nutrient intake, the grasses will grow back greener and stronger. They will be more resistant to damage from use and generate more and more plant growth. At this point, there is a shift from having to pay for maintenance of the plants to maintain the field. It is a big difference considering you are trading intense labor to replant, and re-fertilize to merely cutting the grass.

As a result, the fields look richer and more vibrant, and their soil is fertile. The effects of the runoff that would have normally destroyed the fertility of the soil are greatly minimized. Therefore we can start to see the longterm benefits arise, such as continued successful retention of nutrients. This sort of effect can have positive correlations in the volume of customers, budgeting, and quality of service.

Will I Save More Money, Too?

Simply by adjusting the methods you use for your irrigation zone, we have reversed the damages that your field was sustaining. By that alone we can promise a decrease in the costs of upkeep. Instead of the need to roll out new patches of grass, your budget will be spent on visual maintenance. This is drastically cheaper and far better for business.

When we successfully applied our fertigation system to the Boiling Springs Golf Course in 2015, there were dramatic changes almost overnight. Within a year, fertigation had made major adjustments for these courses. They were reported to be greener, and the course was growing more and more popular every day. To put this in a financial perspective, before fertigation was applied, the maintenance budget they were operating with was around $51,000. For smaller companies, these sorts of budgets are very important as they can make or break the business. If it rises too high, it can destroy the venture. For larger corporations that spend millions of dollars per year on maintenance, the costs would provide marginal additions or subtractions from profit.

Different scales would mean different rates of success, which is why we want to highlight both the amount of money we saved Boiling Springs and the percentage that one can expect for their commercial landscape. In the year of 2016, their budget revealed to be cut down to $25,000. That is more than a 50% reduction in costs. For a business of even modest size, that can mean hundreds of thousands maybe even millions if you get fertigation for your land.
